The Lady Gaels ran their best race of the season Tuesday, putting on a dominant performance against Monson and South Hadley. Despite the absence of Rose Casavant, who sat out with a sore calf, the team captured 4 of the top 5 spots overall to post their sixth win of the season. The Lady Gaels' pack-running was in evidence once again, as Evelyn Powell, Marissa Lapointe, and Laura J ran stride for stride with South Hadley's star runner Jenny Barry throughout the entire race, with Evelyn out-sprinting Barry to the finish to claim the victory. Vickie Cavanaugh ran another solid race, and wasn't far behind the team's lead three. Bridget Barcomb and Laura MacDonald rounded out the scoring. All of the Lady Gaels ran personal bests on South Hadley's tough 5k course (which the team originally visited back on September 10th). Some of the biggest improvements were shown by Laura J (2:42 faster) and Vickie (2:28 faster). Special congrats to Katie Parsons and Lauren Urbanski, who have shown tremendous improvement already this season -- Katie was 5:07 faster, while Lauren was 5:35 faster.
