Woods Trail Run @ Thetford Academy

For the third straight year, the Lady Gaels made the two hour trip to Thetford Vermont for the Woods Trail Run. Although the team was unable to duplicate last year's success (when three Lady Gaels finished in the top five in two separate races), the meet was a lot of fun, and a great tune-up for the rest of the season. Evelyn Powell posted the fastest time of the day for the team (running 23:01 in the Girls' 2nd seed race), and Marissa Lapointe and Laura J had the highest individual finishes (19th and 26th in the Girls' 3rd seed race). Lauren Urbanski continues to improve, and she ran her best race of the year (3). The team was also happy to see Jessica Tallman make her return to racing. After missing the first 6 weeks of the season while recovering from foot surgery, Jess returned to practice this past week, and competed in the Girls' 4th seed race. Although few of the Lady Gaels were really pleased with their results Saturday, the day was a ton of fun, and one thing that is clear about this year's team is that they are certainly one of the most close-knit and together teams to ever run for Catholic -- that alone should play a large part in their success in the weeks to come.
